Learner Spotlight: Isra Nordien

Aside from the outstanding work our learners are doing online, they’re also out there flourishing offline! Learner Spotlight shines a light on the incredible accomplishments our learners achieve, highlighting individual stories about how they’re taking their passions to the next level. From athletes to entrepreneurs and creatives, we couldn’t be more excited about all the talent inside UCT Online High School. And we want to shout it to the world; “look at how brightly our learners shine!”

Meet Isra Nordien

Meet Isra Nordien, a Grade 10 learner and Climate Justice Learner Representative at UCT Online High School.

Since joining UCT Online High School at the start of 2022, our school has unlocked new opportunities for Isra. More recently she got to visit the Susan and Michael Dell Foundation, and organise our school’s first-ever virtual climate justice sit-in in order to raise awareness about climate change.

Seeing the world around her and how the planet is being treated, sparked Isra to start making environmental changes in her own life and speaking up on how we can all be part of the change.
