Learner Spotlight: Amber Hindmarch

Aside from the outstanding work our learners are doing online, they’re also out there flourishing offline! Learner Spotlight shines a light on the incredible accomplishments our learners achieve, highlighting individual stories about how they’re taking their passions to the next level. From athletes to entrepreneurs and creatives, we couldn’t be more excited about all the talent inside UCT Online High School. And we want to shout it to the world; “look at how brightly our learners shine!”

Meet Amber Hindmarch‍

Amber is a Grade 11 learner at UCT Online High School, and a South African road and track cyclist!

Amber started cycling when she was 10 years old, and her first-ever race was the Cape Town Cycle Tour.

She can spend up to 20 hours training for cycling, as well as travelling to and from competitions, making conventional school difficult to keep up with. This is what makes UCT Online High School so convenient for Amber, and other learners like her. Being a UCT Online High School learner allows Amber to structure her school work around her training schedule, thanks to our structured flexibility model.
