The structure

Three modules. One qualification.

Every Occupational Certificate is built on three integrated module types, so you build knowledge, apply it, and prove it in a real workplace.
MODULE 01
Knowledge modules
The theory, delivered fully online and at your own pace, with interactive content and self-tests to keep you on track.
MODULE 02
Practical skills modules
Where theory meets practice — applied assignments, case studies and demonstrations that build a portfolio proving you can do the work.
MODULE 03
Work experience modules
The real-world component — apply your skills with an approved industry placement partner on live client briefs.
1. Knowledge Modules
The theoretical foundation, delivered fully online and asynchronously. Weekly video lessons, interactive content and self-tests keep you on track and let you study at your own pace, around work and life.
2. Practical Skills Modules
Where theory meets practice. You’ll work through applied assignments, case studies and practical demonstrations. Building a portfolio of work that proves you can do the job, not just describe it.
3. Work Experience Modules
The real-world component. You’ll apply your skills in an authentic workplace setting with an approved industry placement partner, supported by a formal three-way agreement between you, the Academy and your placement partner.

Online does not mean on your own. Support Advisors, industry-expert course facilitators, peer forums and wellness staff are with you from your first day to graduation.

Is this for you?

In-demand career path

  • You want a recognised qualification and a real creative career, not just a short course.
  • You are visually curious and ready to give and receive design feedback.
  • You can study online, around work or other commitments — about 12 hours a week.

Where you can go next

A completed Graphic Media Designer certificate is a strong base for further study — Higher Certificates at NQF Level 5 and 6, and specialised certifications in UI/UX, motion or 3D — as well as freelance or studio practice with a credentialled portfolio to lead with.
